A brief history:
Central City Development Corporation (CCDC) was incorporated in 1998, and the follow year was granted tax-exempt status as a nonprofit.
1999 - 2004: CCDC worked with Spectrum Resources on program development, grant monitoring, and program facilitation. During this time, CCDC also provided re-entry life skills programming in three different state prisons.
2009 - 11: CCDC worked with the Iowa Department of Corrections to develop a Cultural Competency curriculum, as well as to re-write the Domestic Violence curriculum being used with those who have caused harm.
2009 - 16: CCDC worked with the Iowa Department of Human Services to provide team-building, self-awareness, problem solving, conflict management, and self-care training.
2016 Update! CCDC's Mobile Training Unit is ready for road trips!
2012 - Present: CCDC works with Project IOWA to develop curriculum and to facilitate empowerment and transformation classes for program participants.
2020 - Present: CCDC works actively in the Cedar Rapids metro area with fellow SET grant-funded organizations to deliver programming through the ReSET 2020 Youth & Family Challenge program and the upcoming Community Hope & Transformation (C.H.A.T.) project.
