We work with clients to provide wraparound services that are unique to their needs and the needs of their families.   We utilize Cognitive-Based Therapy (CBT), Restorative Practices, and Art Therapy as we partner with families that have been impacted by toxic stress, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), generational trauma, and exposure to violence. We provide clients with knowledge, tools, and strategies to foster resiliency and create positive environments in their homes and in their community.

We are inviting you to engage through stories of community connectivity, resiliency, hope, and transformation told by community members with diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Storytelling is a powerful tool for social change that can help us shape the way we think and feel about our worlds and those within them. Restorative Mindset

When serving within our commUNITY, our practices encompass a restorative approach to planning and delivery of all programming and direct services.

“The fundamental hypothesis of restorative practices embodies fair process by asserting that ‘people are happier, more cooperative and productive, and more likely to make positive changes in behavior when those in authority do things with them, rather than to them or for them’ (IIRP, 2021)".

All decisions about what we do and what we focus on are made with those that we serve. When working with youth and families, together, we identify their needs and craft tailored, research-based services and creative, therapeutic programming to address those needs.

Service Delivery

Historically, there are many reasons for the inequitable access and structural barriers related to

participation in local programming and/or community and family services. Some of these include (but

are not limited to): childcare, transportation, mental/ physical health, legal.

Services provided by CCDC are delivered through multiple modes with the intent of breaking down these barriers and providing supportive interventions and alternatives to traditional, site-based programming and services. We maximize access by providing services virtually whenever possible and feasible. Recognizing that access to the internet and technology can be a barrier, CCDC works with families to assess their technology needs and help them to attain the necessary equipment on a permanent or loaner basis. Using our Mobile CHAT Units, we deploy our resources to literally meet youth and families “where they are”.

Program modalities and delivery models may be tailored to include: small and large group facilitation (youth and adult learners); small online talking circle groups; in-person community circles and services, (to resume when safe); individual and small group transformational coaching.
